The Downtime Fisherman online tackle shop has been something I wanted to do for years but never got around to doing it. During the pandemic I had some time to look into aiming for a job I want to enjoy doing every day, and after a year selling on ebay, I have taken the decision to move to the next stage and build an online tackle store. The opening of the online shop should start to see more big brands become available to offer to you in the shop.
I have decided to aim my offer mostly at Lure fishing and some accessories initially. Due to the space I have available at the moment the stock items will tend to be smaller stock lines like lures and hooks. This will grow in time and hopefully we will get some good relationships with suppliers to offer great value products across the price ranges from budget to premium. Fishing doesn’t need to be expensive for you to be successful.
I am from the North East of Scotland and at the moment I lure fish mostly in the sea and I fly fish occasionally in the trout fisheries. I hope to try more types of fishing and in more areas around the UK as my business grows.
I unfortunately had to get treatment for Testicular Cancer in 2012 and I now struggle with some side effects that the chemotherapy has left me with, One of the issues I have is balance due to a condition called Peripheral Neuropathy which is damaged nerves in my hands, legs and feet. This makes life a bit challenging, especially while fishing.
Because of the challenges I have I would like to have links on my page from associations that help disabled anglers get fishing. I personally feel much better after getting out for some quiet time fishing and would like to help others find ways they too can get out fishing again. If you are in an association and would like to give me a link so people can contact you, join your facebook page etc then please get in touch at thedowntimefisherman@gmail.com
Thanks for visiting my website. I hope you keep coming back as I grow the business and I wish you tight lines.
